General Guidelines from EMU
Personal Preparation:Jewelry: participants should remove hoops, rings, bracelets, watches or dangling jewelry if possible, or if not, cover it with tape or restrain it inside clothing. Studs are permissible, as are neck chains if restrained inside clothing.
Climbers should empty their pockets, and not have anything in their mouths (gum, candy, etc.).
Clothing should be comfortable and movement oriented. Loose clothing should be secured (buttoned, zipped, snapped) and tucked inside the harness (to allow an unobstructed view of tie-ins and belay equipment).
Courtesies and General Deportment:Participants are asked to refrain from vulgar language and offensive conduct. KEEP THE AIR CLEAN FOR US ALL!
Call your dynos (lunge moves and jumps), especially if close to the ground (this avoids dangerous rope slack near the climber’s neck).
Two falls on a route and then exchange if people are waiting.
Climbers should not modify routes without permission from the Activity Supervisor.
Supervisors are the final authority for any issues regarding equipment, technique, activity and behavior. Participants who disregard the direction or authority of a supervisor will be asked to leave.
Prohibited Activities-Appropriate use is top-roping, following rope routes up the wall. Inappropriate uses include but are not limited to:
